A quick trip to LA last Saturday brought us to Japantown for lunch and a visit Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. My cousin Nicole of dans les details recently blogged her visit to the Suprasensorial: Experiments in Light, Color, and Space exhibit and after seeing the photos, I was really excited to experience it for myself.Being able to explore an exhibit, walk into an installation, touch and experience the art was quite stimulating and interesting. Going from light to dark to colorful, and being able to see each installation from different angles and points of view gave hubs and I a chance to get lost for a while.

Reminding me of graffiti and scribbles, this was my favorite installation.
Cromosaturación, Carlos Cruz-Diez. This installation was divided into 3 rooms. Each room was clean and minimal, illuminated by green, red, or blue fluorescent lights. The colors you see change as you move from room to room, providing a great experience to the senses.

Being able to walk through these blue plastic string was a true sensory experience. Walking forward, backward, sideways. Too much fun.
There were no photos allowed in the rest of the museum, but I rebelled and took a few when the guards weren't looking ;)

A trip to LA is not complete with out a food truck stop. We've caught some great trucks over the last year, but one truck we'd been dying to try was the nom nom truck. They have the cutest truck out there, a yummy selection of Vietnamese sandwiches and tacos on their menu, rocked the Great Food Truck Race on the Food Network, and look like super sweet people. Finding their truck last Saturday was an absolute dream.

This is my sandwich after a few bites. So much nom nom goodness.Each banh mi was 12 inches long. Comprised of a fresh and fluffy French baguette, lots of fresh cilantro, carrots, daikon, very yummy marinated pork, cucumbers, jalapenos, and some mustard, the banh mi was light, crisp, flavorful, and I need more!!Have you tried the nom nom truck? How does it compare with banh mis from others you've tried?
Very happy and excited to announce that honey my heart will be vending at the LA Craft Experience for the Chinese New Year Festival in Los Angeles Chinatown. The event is in under 2 weeks on February 5 and 6, 2011. It runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. This is my first big craft show and I hope you all can make it!
Also, I got a little blog makeover from the super awesome srslyliz. She simplified my lay out, designed an awesome navigation bar (the little hearts by each tab are killing me with cuteness) and super fun side bar category images, and I'm loving the look. Thank you again Liz!!

Handbags are my favorite accessory. I think I've gone through/owned almost 100 through the years. I have been wanting to do a "what's in your bag" blog post, and when Ashley from A Hasty Life contacted me about participating in her It's in the Bag blog crawl, I had to participate!
My current love is the Alexander Wang Rocco Baby Duffel from Opening Ceremony. I love the soft, textured black leather and black studded bottom. 
It is easy to carry, roomy, tough, goes with most every outfit :) I added a "J" pin to add some personality.And without further ado, here is what's in the bag:

Simple and small, this only carries the essentials.+Prada sunglasses. Years ago I worked at the Sunglass Hut. There were yearly 50% off discounts for employees so I stocked up. I've probably worn them once or twice in 2007, so they were like new when I started wearing them in 2010 :)+Marc by Marc Jacobs coin purse. It glows in the dark!+Fuji Instax Mini camera! I usually carry this with me during the weekend and to fun events/parties.+Extra jewelry.
