hmh ss 2014: Free Circles

The soft shape of circles have always been a source of inspiration. Round and full, the shape can be wonderful and versatile. I like a circle as an individual piece, and I'm loving a cluster of circles. Either lightly connected or symmetrically planned, the Free Circles Collection is comprised of gold filled soft circles and balance.

Stud earrings to complement the necklaces.

Circles are my favorite now, and I'm excited to design more with them!

hmh ss 2014: Tiny Sparks

Gemstones are some of my most favorite materials to work with. Their natural feel and shine are great matches to smooth gold. I've made various necklaces, earrings, and bracelets with gemstones, but wanted to try my hand at setting and mounting gemstones. Gold filled rings are my choice pieces, so the set gems would be on rings and studs earrings.

Amethyst, garnet, and peridot are my current gems of choice. I chose a tiny gem size (4mm) for a sweet and understated look. Yet, their cut bring a great shine and sparkle. A tiny spark, if you will.

The Tiny Sparks Collection will debut at the Unique LA Spring Show this weekend!!

Semi DIY: HOORAY & hearts Cake Toppers

In preparation for Hannah's 1st birthday, I have been buying lots of party details like tassels, confetti, paper flowers, and cake toppers. When I saw the HOORAY Cake Toppers by Oh Joy, I knew I had to have them. The colors are so great, andI wanted to spice them up just a little bit more. I thought about dipping the bottoms in gold paint or doing glittered polka dots on the letters, but I was drawn to some pink heart confetti I purchased for a Valentine's Day project years back.

Glue was added to the bottom portion of the letters, then the mini heart confetti was generously sprinkled on, and then shaken off.

HOORAY!!

Can't wait to add these to Hannah's dessert table.

Current Production: Rings and Rings and Rings

With Unique LA about 2 weeks away, I have carved out some time to spend on the bench and make some rings and things. Rings are one of my most favorite pieces to make. It's a routine of bending and heating and hammering and it starts all over again. And I love that gold filled and sterling silver wire can be formed into beautiful circles.

One afternoon and these were all made! Stacking rings in sterling silver, gold filled, rose gold filled, and gold filled twist textured. There are also various rings and studs and pendants included in the photo. All of which I'm so happy with. I am hoping to build up a nice inventory to carry me through the Spring and Summer shows.

Heart on Top Rings! Always love making these.

And love stacking them, too!

Hope your week is great!!

Some Spring Rings

Spring is bringing some fresh rigs to honey my heart! Twisted rope textured rings, hammered rings, and a little silver leaf. I am really into gold right now, so these gold filled rings are filling my production list and will be at the Unique LA Spring Show!

The Silver Leaf rings will be available on sterling silver and gold filled bands. I love the silver on silver smoothness, but I looooove the mixed metal/tone on tone of the silver and gold mix.

And my current ring stack for Spring :)

The Bradbury Building

We got to tour the Bradbury Building in Downtown LA last month. A good friend worked there (just moved offices!) so we got to tour the place, explore the floors, and ride the awesome elevator. It was a great experience to visit such a historical building (and famous!) and appreciate the architecture.

Hannah ready for some good architecture.

Light flooding in at the entrance. I am in love with the staircases.

The elevator!

It was so bright and warm on the top floor.

Looking down to the ground floor.

The Bradbury building is sooooo dreamy. Definitely a gem in DTLA, the warm colors and airy vibe make me happy. Now if only JGL was there ;)

Cherry Blossom Love

One of my absolute favorite Spring time treats are blooming flowers, especially cherry blossoms! All of the trees in our neighborhood are in full bloom and we are loving the sweet pink colors. Hannah can even recognize the "pink flowers" when we go on walks. It is the absolute sweetest.

Happy Spring! Hope you get to enjoy some colorful flowers this weekend.
