Elephants on Parade

It is my cousin D's bday today, and in celebration of her and her love for elephants, I compiled a few of my favorite elle finds.

And because it was necessary for her birthday present to have an elephant theme, I prepared a jewelry set, designed a fun pop-up style card, and ordered a crazy elephant MNKR necklace.

I took an elephant character from stationery purchased years ago, mounted it on light blue paper, folded both in half, and glued the backs of the ears to the inside of the yellow card. When opened, the elephant sort of pops up. The front of the card also holds the same elephant character, just smaller and surrounded by rhinestones. Hand made cards are my fave.

A honey my heart set. The elephant charms are vintage brass stampings and fun with their trucks up.

MNKR crazy elephant necklace charm made with the same material used to make guitar pics. I love that the elephant has shoes on!

My favorite animal is the turtle, but elephants are so cute! What is your favorite animal?

Shop Update

I've been collecting lots of vintage gold and brass charms, gearing up for the next craft show, and decided to list a few fun necklaces in the etsy shop. I have a love and heart theme going, and two sea creatures!!

LOVE pendant and baubles.

Spread the love - heart and peace necklace.

Turtle and pearl necklace. Turtles are one of my favorite animals :)

Octopus and pearl necklace.

I also have some sea horse charms I'm playing with and would love to know what your favorite sea creatures are.

Hope you all are having a great Wednesday!

Turtle Power!

Turtles are my favorite animal. I really don't know how my love of them came about, but I think they're cute and started collecting all kinds of turtle figurines years ago. Oh, and who can forget their childhood love of TNMT? I love turtles so much that they've even made an appearance on my save the date map :) So it would be natural to want to integrate them into other parts of our wedding details.

Right now I'm looking at Laura Hooper's invitation designs. Hopefully she can incorporate the turtles she drew on our maps to our reply postcards, programs, or envelopes.

Place card turtles would be too cute as well and go with our beach side location. Or shiny place card holders that guests can take home.

I'm also very open to yummy turtle inspired food (I wouldn't eat a real turtle). Turtle shaped chocolates, cupcakes, and cake would be super sweet to look at and equally sweet to eat.

Turtle cake toppers make such a cute keepsake.

And you can't rule out a turtle flavored cake topped with pecans and caramel. Mmm.

What is your favorite animal? Will you incorporate it into small details of your wedding (leopard print shoes, puppy as ring bearer, bird cake toppers)?
