My Heart

Inspired by love and a sense of giving, I would like to share the My Heart collection. Starting out as simple sterling silver wire, each heart is hand formed, soldered closed, and one of a kind piece. One of a kind like the different kinds of love we all have.

There are also My Heart rings!

I love how each heart is different and how dainty each ring is.

My Heart will be premiering at Unique LA this Saturday! And will also be available in the etsy shop :) Have a lovely day.

Angels Knoll

This little patch of happiness on the corner of Olive and 4th is Angels Knoll. It is a serenely peaceful park that overlooks Hill Street and some downtown LA buildings. Trees keep the park cool while the grassy hill and benches provide plenty of spots to take in the views. It is such a calm oasis from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Angels Knoll also holds this famous bench from the movie "500 Days of Summer".

Now if only I could find JGL ;)

George Harrison: Living in the Material World

While at the Grammy Museum a few weeks back, we took in the exhibit "George Harrison: Living in the Material World". The exhibit is a collection of art, photos, fashion, instruments, and journals/notes/lyrics from George's life. It gives you a chance to explore the details behind his creativity and music. Here are a few photos from the exhibit.

Guitars and outfits. Those prints and the jackets are still pretty fab.

Collage wall of photos.

There was Beatles music playing through out the room, but it was nice to have some private listening at these stations.

Sir Paul.

I heart seeing hand written lyrics. There is so much personality and art in one's handwriting. Above are the lyrics from the song "Something".

Give me love (give me peace on earth).

This is a must see for any Beatles fan :)

A Happy Weekend

This was one of those weekends. One that was a blur of activity, fun, and love! My friends were in town for a mini reunion of sorts and one of my Australian cousins came to LA on holiday with her family. I got to meet up with all of them and my heart is full!!

Cupcakes on hand to celebrate. Always.

Love these two. We lived on the same floor our freshman year of college. It's been over 10 years. They're my college fam.

And I met these two! My little Australian nephews. So adorable. I wanted to eat them up.

So happy for time with the family.

It's been a wonderful weekend and I'm looking forward to more wonderfulness this upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

The Pie Hole and Wurstkuche

Last Saturday after we finished a great vendor meeting for Unique LA and were in the mood to try new places for some good food, we found ourselves in the Arts District of Downtown LA. Hoping to try freshly baked savory pies, we headed to The Pie Hole on Traction Street. It would be good enough to enjoy some baked goodness and then we looked across the street and found Wurstkuche, an amazing sausage grill and bar. Below are the tasty results of our visit.

Daily menu displays so many options!

Pulled pork hand pie and mac n cheese mini pie!

Cheesy, flaky, goodness!! Can't wait to try their sweet options next time.

Next up was Wurstkuche! You chose from their amazing selection of meat (which includes alligator & pork sausage and buffalo beef and pork with chipotle peppers) add toppings, add sides (Belgian fries!), order some imported beers, and enjoy.

Very open and awesome seating area.

Mustards and ketchup.

We ate with my parents so there were lots of sausages to sample.

Bratwurst with sauteed onions and jalapenos on the side.

Belgian fries with a blue cheese dipping sauce. Amazing!

I heart and awesome meal. Happy Friday all. Hope your weekend is full of good food!
