Views From the Wharf

This week's gloomy mornings have me day dreaming about last weekend's sunny day on Stearns Wharf in Downtown Santa Barbara. I was on the hunt for postcards and other tourist SB items, and the Wharf was the perfect place to pick some up. The beautiful blue view was a nice bonus.

Sunny Friday

We have been blessed with amazing summer like weather this week (mid 70s and sunny everyday) and I have been soaking it all in. It's been such a great start to this first week of 2012. Happy Friday all.

Blues and Silver

Sky and ocean blues have had my mind spinning with inspiration for the past few weeks. There's something about how dark blues fade to light, heavy colors turn soft, and everything just works. The sky is soft and the ocean's waves swirl with detail. It's all beautiful. I just love how the cool shades of blue and ease of the color are so naturally calming.

With this inspiration and a craving to be closer to nature, I scoured a local beads shop's collection of semiprecious stones. Turquoise, blue agate, sea foam crystals, they're all so perfect. Paired with simple sterling silver hoops, the blue stones take me back to a calm day on the beach.

Hemimorphite sandwiched between two labradorites. My favorite labradorite detail is the slight iridescent blue that glimmers between gray specks. It's a small detail but so lovely.


Hemimophite and turquoise. The varying specks on the turquoise remind me of sand.


And, since hearts are always on my mind, 2 of hearts hoop earrings.

Labor Day, Beach Days

This weekend was quite beautiful. We enjoyed the sun, relaxed our minds, and took some new jewelry photos at the local beach. I loved it.

It is Friday!

It's been a busy week here with lots of behind the scenes planning/preparation for our 1 year jewelry anniversary (some sneak peeks next week), and I'm so happy that it's Friday! I'm looking forward to a few lazy days off with some time on the beach. Hope that you all have a wonderful weekend :)

Bluff Walk, Blue Skies

It's been a busy 2 weeks for us with work, traveling, and jewelry shows, so a walk on the Ellwood Bluffs on a clear afternoon was necessary. We tend to get wrapped up in activities, that taking a short break from it all is a perfect way to relax and recharge. Here are a few photos from our walk.

Walking on Goleta Pier

Summer amazingness has brought us to the beach a lot over the past few weeks. Recently we visited Goleta Beach to take an afternoon walk along the pier. It was perfectly calm, breezy, and just long enough.
