January Beach Day

With such a cold January thus far, we were blessed with a wonderfully warm 3 day weekend last weekend. Monday was just such a beautiful day that we had to spend some time at the beach. There are a lot of beaches to explore now that we live in LA, and we started with Santa Monica. It's the closest in proximity to us, is quite expansive that you can find your own little plot of sand, and just peaceful.

It's always nice to take a break from the daily grind and soak up the sun.

Hope that you are all having a great week. Thank you all for the comments about my last post! We are definitely feeling all of the love and are so thankful.

Views From the Wharf

This week's gloomy mornings have me day dreaming about last weekend's sunny day on Stearns Wharf in Downtown Santa Barbara. I was on the hunt for postcards and other tourist SB items, and the Wharf was the perfect place to pick some up. The beautiful blue view was a nice bonus.

Hope your June day isn't too gloomy!

Manila 2012: Beaches

During our Manila trip we were able to venture out and visit two beach locations: Pico de Loro and Bolinao. Both were a drive from the city yet well worth the trip. We were able to soak in the sun, take a dip in the calm ocean, and just let the hours pass without a care. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and calamity of Manila.

First beach visit was Pico de Loro. This view from the pool facing the Pico de Loro cove is so calming and I want to go back. The day was sunny, breezy, and so great.

Since this beach was in a cove, the water was quite calm and shallow. We were able to wander out very far and just float on for hours.

Our other beach was Bolinao. Still undiscovered, there were only locals out and not many tourists. I enjoyed the time spent there because it was like having the beach to ourselves.

Sunset.

Low tide provided lots of time to explore the tide pools, collect hermit crabs, and just walk. My little boy cousins enjoyed it!

Hubs enjoying the view from our room.

While we live by the beach in SB, I find it wonderful to visit/explore other beaches. Watching waves crash, smelling the ocean, laying in the sand... they're all some of my favorite experiences.

Weekday Walk

Sometimes I need a week day like this: sleeping in, going for a long afternoon stroll, watching the sunset.

It's so great, inspiring, and energizing to take a break from the regular schedule and enjoy my surroundings.

Happy Tuesday!!

Sunny Friday

We have been blessed with amazing summer like weather this week (mid 70s and sunny everyday) and I have been soaking it all in. It's been such a great start to this first week of 2012. Happy Friday all.

Mosaics on Cabrillo

Between Cabrillo Boulevard and West Beach lies a wide sidewalk accented with huge mosaic tile art pieces. Their large scale is hard to miss and their artistry is wonderful. We took an afternoon stroll to capture the art in the street.

Syuxtun Story Circle. An ode to the Chumash Indians, this piece details their story.

The sand dollar in the middle is my favorite detail.

Ripple Effect by Richard Irvine. Perfect due to it's proximity to the Pacific Ocean. I like all of the blue tiles.

Working Harbor by Richard Irvine. This piece is close to the SB Harbor. The boat propellers are reminiscent of flowers and I like it :)

Swimmers by Richard Irvine. This is right next to the aquatic center.

I can't even imagine how many tile pieces went into creating each mosaic piece. All designs are amazing.

Labor Day, Beach Days

This weekend was quite beautiful. We enjoyed the sun, relaxed our minds, and took some new jewelry photos at the local beach. I loved it.

Hope you all had a wonderful 3 day weekend. Hooray for a short week!

Bluff Walk, Blue Skies

It's been a busy 2 weeks for us with work, traveling, and jewelry shows, so a walk on the Ellwood Bluffs on a clear afternoon was necessary. We tend to get wrapped up in activities, that taking a short break from it all is a perfect way to relax and recharge. Here are a few photos from our walk.

Perfectly blue.

I love that it's so serene and private.

Perfect.

Hope you are all having a wonderful week! We're almost to the weekend and I'm excited because we will be at UniqueLA's summer show.

Walking on Goleta Pier

Summer amazingness has brought us to the beach a lot over the past few weeks. Recently we visited Goleta Beach to take an afternoon walk along the pier. It was perfectly calm, breezy, and just long enough.

Hubs enjoying it.

Little doggies go fishing, too!

All I see is blue and I like it.

Hope Ranch in the distance.

Looking towards UCSB.

Enjoying the sun and breeze.

Hope that you are enjoying summer!
