Saturday at Oreana Winery

Spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Oreana Winery for some local SB vending. It was a lovely gathering of local crafters and musicians, out of towners on wine tours, tourist coming from the beach, and locals out for sun filled day.

The entrance.

This succulent wall garden was my favorite. I like how each compartment holds a different plant and how it looks like a piece of art. Anyone wanna help me create one for my patio?

The tasting room is bright and filled with bottles. There were always people coming through for their tastings, bringing a great energy into the space.

Just a few of their wines on display. I love the name "Bunny Blanc". So cute!

One of two patios for drinking and taking it all in.

The honey my heart booth. I'm in the process of designing a new display, so above are a few tweaks from past shows. Minty green colors are added to the color scheme, the boxes in the back are now wrapped in gold swirl paper, and the bird on the left for the exclusive necklaces is back! A few more changes are coming, including something to add height to the table.

And the highlight of the day: a group of super stylish girls were visiting from LA for wine tasting to celebrate a birthday, and they all bought flower and filigree band rings to wear as "friendship rings" in commemoration of the day. Loved it!!

Happy Monday all.

Space Invaders 2

Santa Barbara is known for many things but not handmade design. It's a shame really since there are plenty of wonderful independent designers, crafters, and artist in the area. Through esty teams and individuals' efforts there have been little shows around town, but the one with the biggest congregation of designers was Space Invaders 2. Organized by Vanae Rivera of Mary and the Machine and located outside her studio, SI2 was a collection of artists, jewelers, photographers, seamstresses, and good people.

Held on a cool Saturday afternoon, SI2 brought crowds that supported local design and art. Music filled the air while an energy buzzed. There was a raffle that supported Heart 2 Hand, lemonade and cupcake stand, and great DJ. It was not the biggest or flashiest of shows, but it is a start to buying local and supporting community!

Some of the scene.

The Man Alley had lots of art and a deer head. It was fun walking through.

I made a friend.

SB Retro's cashmere plushies!

The Lemon Grove's cute table had my favorite design.

Plates, bowls, vases by Spiral Sea Arts.

Sea glass was collected from Santa Barbara beaches to create lovely pendants like the above by Susan Dempsay.

Glass coasters by Sukiku.

Sofi's Duckies turns your regular rubber ducky into your favorite cultural figures. I saw Ghost Busters, Michael Jackson as Thriller, Rainbow Brite, Hello Kitty, but my favorite was Bowie Duckie!

Our table neighbor was Eleven 13 Jewelry. Michelle creates one of a kind pieces from sterling silver and gold fill, hooray for quality material! She was also fun to chat with :)

Vanae had her art around the space and her studio open to visit. This was one of my favorite pieces.

Also loved all of these paintings.

We enjoyed super delish burgers from one of SB's gourmet food trucks, The Burger Bus.

And had a nice time. Here was our table display for SI2. This may be the last time we use this look/color scheme. I love this display, but there's always room to spice things up so while we will keep the general layout, we will be changing up the color scheme and may add more components for Unique.

Thanks Vanae, hope the handmade community in SB continues to thrive!

Silver Lake Jubilee Recap

The Silver Lake Jubilee was a good time. Music all day, art, poetry sessions, green booths, independent design vendors, and food trucks! honey my heart shared a booth with LOK'D Jewelry. I liked that we were a fun balance in style, color, and aesthetic. We worked very long hours, but enjoyed the weekend.

The honey my heart half of the booth.

LOK'D details. Jase uses mostly vintage legos to put together for a modern and edgy look.

Double Hearts does gold heart rings and bracelets, feather and pearl earrings/hair clips/bracelets. They shared a booth with hephzi creations, who make wonderful collage style bracelets, and sweet to the soul who creates re-purposed jewelry and feather accessories. Super cool and super fun girls.

ARKA clothing with lots of designs to choose from. The Poster List always rocking with posters. We ended up buying the "eggs" poster because I love sunny side up eggs, and a b/w damask poster. Human Tree Robot always amaze me with their painting and prints. Skullastic is the school stationery brand I wish I had as a kid.

Love the contemporary style of these Royalistique earrings. I purchased a gold stackable ring and looove it! It's always a treat to see the fun goodies at oh hello friend's table. Love Nail Tree's booth was my absolute fave. They even had a fun person spend some time at their booth (more on that in a bit). And plastique* necklaces rock. I hope they make SB or palm tree ones :)

We ate a lot, too. 626 fries from Fresh Fries. These were fries topped with hoisin sauce, mayo, and crunchy noodles. A weird combination but surprisingly delicious. Vietnamese nachos from Mandoline Grill were quite fresh. Then there were the sloppy joe sliders and cheddar cheese balls from the Cheese Ball Wagon. And finally, Neri's Curbside Cravings shrimp balls were quite yummy. The fact that they came with a fried egg made my day :)

In between eating and vending, there was time for shopping. These are two of my favorite pieces. Wishbone rings by fruition and LA necklace by MNKR. MNKR's new necklace line is super fun, I can't wait to buy more styles.

Here are my booth details. My sign with pink heart and poms to add fun. Necklaces resting on hearts, earrings laying in white dishes and on the table. And logo, moo cards, and little hello kitty mascot for good luck!

Close ups of my favorite products. The large rhinestones and glass pearl beads necklace is my new favorite design. Love the bauble factor. Next are my vintage brass LOVE and ps I love you rings, which work well with both men and women. A faceted lucite bead with 2 baubles for a fun and bright (facets catch the light) pendant necklace. And colorful beaded bracelets which double as fun corsages :)

There were lots of cool people that came around the Jubilee. I loved everyone who stopped by my booth. Some were super cool, some were super stylish. Then there was Ashton Kutcher!! He did not stop by my booth, but I did get a stalkerazzi photo of him shopping at Love Nail Tree. Husband was a great assistant/helper for the entire weekend (I paid him in food), and 2 great friends and their doggies visited, too!

All in all, it was a busy weekend and fun :) Can't wait for the next show.

Instant Prints from Silver Lake Jubilee

I'm back from another fun weekend of vending and gourmet food trucking in LA and have lots of things to organize, put away, and make, but I wanted to share a few instant photos taken at the Silver Lake Jubilee.

honey my heart booth! We shared a booth with LOK'd jewelry so we reorganized our table lay out, but kept the colors bright :)

LOK'd jewelry's half of the booth. Their more masculine style, edgy design, and darker colors brought a nice balance to our bright and girly side of the booth.

Double Hearts Treasure was also rocking a booth.

Double Hearts is run by my cousin, Paula :)

Good to see Vintage Remade, our Unique LA table neighbors! The booth was decorated quite nicely and had a chic feel.

The Poster List was in full effect. So many cool posters.

Love the design of Love Nail Tree.

One of my faves is MNKR. Their shirts and wood prints are great, but I really love their necklaces!

Another of our Unqiue LA table neighbors was fruition! We love their style. Their booth mate was hi tree!

So much cuteness and craftiness at hi, tree.

Good times :)
