Boathouse at Hendry's Beach

With the weekend coming up and the weather a perfect 71 degrees, I wanted to share a place in Santa Barbara that we enjoy.

Hendry's Beach is a little spot off Cliff Drive. Very local and dog friendly, it is a good place to walk, take in the scenery, relax, and grab a bite.

The Boathouse is located at the edge of Hendry's, serving up local seafood and a great view. Prices are reasonable, food is yummy, and you really can not beat the location. Patio seating provides sun-kissed skin and ocean breezes, while every seat has an ocean view.

The prawn cocktail is yummy!

And the Seared Ahi Club so mouth watering.

If you're ever in the area, check this place out :)

Happy Friday!

Where did you go?

I took an unintentional, yet totally needed, blog break. Somewhere in the end of March and beginning of April, life got in the way. Nothing really exciting happened. There was work, day trips, and a minor cold. Ideas would come up yet time was scarce. But as the weeks had passed, I realized that I missed blogging. I still have a few wedding recaps to do, some DIYs in my head, and food stories I want to share. Hopefully my blog is still on your radar. I promise to be back :)

And because today is a beautiful day in SB, here is a photo of some palms.

Happy Thursday everyone! It is almost the weekend :)

Save the earth: our home, our castle

We try to do what we can to keep a green lifestyle (recycle, reuseable grocery bags, filter water and klean kanteens, carpooling, eating locally, unplugging every non-essential electronic device, etc) and we know we can and want to continue to do more. It is sometimes a bit more work to "go green" but super cute ways to encourage green living like the downloads below make it inspiring.

Jinjerup has free printable recycling labels available for download here. They would dress up recycling bins nicely.

My Paper Crane provides a very cute "dirty dozen" cheat sheet which lists fruits and vegetables to buy organically and those with low pesticides. Available for download here, I find this perfect to carry around while grocery shopping :)

Happy Earth Day everyone!
