SB Fiesta

It is Santa Barbara's biggest weekend, Old Spanish Days Fiesta!! Dedicated to SB's history, culture, spirit, and traditions, the weekend will be full of events, live music, a parade, museum tours, dancing, food booths, confetti eggs, and parties! My favorite part is the food, and I really love how much this city comes alive in celebration.

Festivities began on Wednesday, we have already enjoyed in some food and drinks, and are looking forward to an awesome weekend. Have a great weekend all. Viva la Fiesta!

Fiesta 2011

This weekend was Santa Barbara's ever fabulous Fiesta weekend! A celebration of the city's history, everyone comes out to party at the plaza, enjoy amazing food and drinks, watch the parade, and be party. We were out of town for the weekend, but made it to the weekday festivities!

Live music at Paseo Nuevo.

Dancing! We saw lots of ladies in beautiful dresses walking to and from their events.

Confetti eggs are sold on State Street for patrons to buy and break over each others heads. There are some plain colored eggs, but the best ones are those decorated as characters and animals!

My favorite is when the confetti fills the streets, it's just so festive and fun!

There's also a marketplace at De La Guerra Plaza full of vendor stalls and food booths!

We get our favorite drink, watermelon agua fresca!

And some yummy fish tacos :)

Hope you had a great weekend. Happy Monday!

Weekender: Fiesta and Lake Casitas

Happy Monday! This weekend was both full of activity and equally lazy. It has been Fiesta in SB all week so we braved the downtown crowds on Saturday.

My favorite part of Fiesta are the confetti filled, decorated eggs. Lots of vendors line State Street and sell these for under $1 and you break them over each others heads. Fun times really.

And the streets become covered with it. It's like snow :)

To keep away from the crowded restaurants and overpriced food, we met up with my family who were camping at Lake Casitas.

Ate yummy bbq.

And roasted smores.

Sunday was a stay in/ eat food/ take photos of crafts type of day. Above are two of my newest jewelry creations :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Can it be Friday again?

Fiesta!

It is Fiesta weekend in Santa Barbara!! As the biggest and most popular time for locals and out of towners, there will be lots of parties, events, a parade, and food. I'm ready to eat tacos, enchiladas, and enjoy refreshments. Happy Weekend!
