Happy Loving Day
Today is Loving Day. A day to celebrate the 1967 Loving v. Virginia Supreme Court decision that legalized interracial marriage in the United States. This couple's fervent fight for the right to marry paved the way for such a great freedom. It's a freedom that we should carry in our hearts and minds, considering that not all Americans have the right to marry. And a reminder to push for continued progress in our lives, with overflowing hope in our hearts.

What color is love: Loving Day
Today is Loving Day. A day to remember, celebrate, and commemorate the Loving v. Virginia Supreme Court decision that, in 1967, legalized interracial marriage in the United States. A day to enjoy our relationship as an interracial couple (I'm Filipino-American and my fiance is Caucasian). A day to share the impactful history of one couple's fervent fight for the right to marry. A day to push for continued progress in our lives, with much hope in our hearts.
Mildred and Richard Loving's case granted them the freedom to marry and provided every interracial couple in the United States with the opportunity to do the same. To share their love.
And love how Sara of Stinkerpants mentioned Loving Day in her beautiful wedding programs.
It's weird to think that during our parents' lifetime, our inter-racial marriage would be considered illegal. Through the times of civil rights, Loving Day, HOPE & CHANGE, we are now very fortunate that our marriage and lifestyle is not only acknowledged, but accepted. We are thankful for this freedom and hope that someday each of our beautifully diverse loved ones can share equally in the privilege of marriage.
