Enjoying Spring

The flowers continue to bloom in the neighborhood and it's so beautiful. I'm continually inspired by the bright hues and new life. Both help me create new color stories and new jewelry pieces for Spring/Summer. This bush of pink flowers is a definite favorite!

I'm also enjoying the blue skies and palm trees. There's just something so CA cool about them.

In other news, honey my heart jewelry is now restocked at Weekend Lovers in Los Angeles.

Hope you're all enjoying the week!!

Weekender: Flowers and Food

The weekend was spent enjoying LA. We went Downtown for some jewelry findings (so excited about the new styles!!) and walked around the Arts District and Japantown enjoying the sun and our favorite food spots. The flowers in bloom were definite show stoppers and the bites we had were delicious. It was a good weekend!

Carne asada taco and hoisin chicken bun from Flying Pig.

Grilled pork bahn mi! Sooo good and love the baguette.

Hubs enjoying the Earl Grey Pie at The Pie Hole. So good!!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I am looking forward to a good week ahead.

Blooming Around Town

There may still be a chill in the breeze and a jacket is required at night, but flowers have begun to blossom!! Seeing the vibrant colors is just so refreshing. I can't wait for Spring to being.

Sunday Flowers

This summer has been so sunny and perfect! Skies are blue, trees are green, and flowers are flourishing. With a lazy weekend to do most anything, we took a nice walk around the neighborhood and enjoyed the flowers.

Purple blossoms that are so soft!

Bougainvilleas are so wild and so pretty.

I want a whole wall of them in my future backyard.

Hope your weekend was super good! I'm looking forward to the upcoming busy week :)

Stop and Smell the Roses

Last Saturday was an easy SB day of late lunch, bakery goods, postcard shopping, and a visit to the Rose Garden. I love the Spring and Summer in SB, especially since the Rose Garden is in full bloom! It is so fun to be able to stroll through and admire the fragrant and bright roses.

Happy Summer Solstice!! Hope you get a chance to smell the roses.

Happy Friday Flower

Happy Friday all. It's been a super busy and exciting week, and it's definitely good to be back to my regular routine. Between work and studio time, I am happy to check off extra things from my to-do list like getting family care packages together and beginning my Unique LA table display. Hope you get a chance to check out the honey my heart Deal Breakers deal! Have a great weekend!!

ps Thank you all for the kind words and tweets about my cousin, Rapha. It's still hard, but we're getting better.

Carved Shell Flowers and Tiny Pearls

For the Spring I wanted to update one of my favorite styles, the Carved Shell Flower Earrings. A little tweaking of the original style, some material changes, and gathering inspiration from my surrounding environment gives these earrings a fresh new look. The carved shell and freshwater pearl materials are inspired by the walks on the beach and natural materials found there, while the flowers are inspired by the blossoms of the Spring season. This updated version comes as dangling earrings, and as a matching set of earrings and necklace.

Anyone ready for Spring?

City of Roses

One cannot visit the City of Roses without taking up trip to the International Rose Test Garden. I am in love with flowers and roses hold a special place in my heart, so we carved some time out of our schedule to head into Washington Park and smell the roses. And there were roses! Rows and rows, flower beds, layers, in bloom, waiting to bloom, vibrant, miniature, and amazing.

I would like to share with you a few of the hundreds of photos taken during my visit. There was so much beauty surrounding us

Red roses!

A little too much fun among the roses.

Sitting area in Shakespeare Garden. The plaque states this Shakespeare quote, "Of all flowers methinks a rose is best."

One of my favorites! I heart how the color goes from yellow to pink.

The mariotta rose was my favorite!

Petals are just amazing!

On the way out.

As we left I picked up some Portland rose postcards. I added 2 honey my heart rose inspired charm necklaces to the photo since I sourced the charms from an Oregon supplier, yay local!

Have you been to the International Rose Test Garden? Is there a similar garden in your city?

Happy Friday!!
