Weekender: Flowers and Food

The weekend was spent enjoying LA. We went Downtown for some jewelry findings (so excited about the new styles!!) and walked around the Arts District and Japantown enjoying the sun and our favorite food spots. The flowers in bloom were definite show stoppers and the bites we had were delicious. It was a good weekend!

Fake Prom

We spent Saturday night at Fake Prom. A fundraiser for Inner City Arts and organized by Unique INC, Fake Prom was giant party in theme of high school's most infamous night. Attendees were encouraged to dress in their best (or worst) prom attire, while traditional aspects like desserts and refreshments, an awesome DJ and tunes, and portraits were available. There was also a bar, gift bag, and DIY station (definitely not like hs prom but that's what made the night awesome).

A tour of Inner City Arts gave guests the chance to see the studios and explore the grounds. It's really amazing the amount of resources available to kids.

DIY corsages were made. I liked all the gold and crepe paper that was on hand.

Dance floor goodness. It was packed and DJ Brian Davidson rocked the night. I enjoyed watching everyone dance, especially those in rockin' prom outfits like powder blue suits, sequins, gold taffeta, and colored pants.

And no prom is complete with out an awkward portrait. I'm pregnant at the Fake Prom!

Unique raised $21,000 for Inner City Arts!! Hooray!!

Oh Hello Friend Shop Opening!

Saturday afternoon was inspirational. After meeting with two great ladies about branding, we headed over to the Oh Hello Friend shop opening in Fullerton. I have been a fan of Danni for some years, and am so happy to call her a vendor friend when I started doing shows a few years ago. It is such an inspiration to see Oh Hello Friend grow and grow, and blossom into a shop!

So many people came out to support! It was stuffed but still cozy.

One of my favorite vignettes in the shop was these two dolls and tassels.

 I could spend hours browsing each section of the OHF shop. The level of detail and care is so apparent. There was plenty of OHF products/findings/stationery offered, and the cultivation of designers OHF carries besides her own is just beyond.

The success is quite amazing and rightfully so. Congratulations to Danni! Wishing you the best.

Painstakingly Made

We spent some of Saturday afternoon at the Painstakingly Made Pop-Up. Held at Geronimo Balloon's studio in Downtown LA, the group of creatives was beautifully curated and so inspiring. I enjoyed seeing brands I am familiar with and discovering new to me brands. It was a superb event.

Weekend Highlights

It was a super busy weekend here at honey my heart. And it was awesome. The awesomeness included Sunday morning in Venice Beach for Abbot Kinney Fest.

 

Apartment hunting and signing a lease for our first place in LA! And only a 3 min drive to hub's work. Wow.

And seeing my jewelry displayed at Flock Shop! It's always an honor seeing something you created in a store.

Coming up for us is packing, donating, moving, and enjoying our last few weeks in SB.

Fizz & Frills This Sunday

Hi Friends! I am so excited to be part of fizz & frills this Sunday. This past week has been busy with prep for the show as well as putting together the honey my heart Fall collection, which will include plenty of new gemstones. I am looking forward sipping on fizzy drinks, being inspired by the design of the show, meeting brides, and premiering the collection to lovely brides-to-be.

Just say yes! I love the "oui" rings by Dior and was inspired to create a couple of necklaces for Local Love. These "oui" pendants are hand formed sterling silver wire, sanded, soldered, and polished. I would love to see a bride wear this on her wedding day.

A Happy Weekend

This was one of those weekends. One that was a blur of activity, fun, and love! My friends were in town for a mini reunion of sorts and one of my Australian cousins came to LA on holiday with her family. I got to meet up with all of them and my heart is full!!

And I met these two! My little Australian nephews. So adorable. I wanted to eat them up.






So happy for time with the family.
