We're Moving Postcards

 

In the midst of packing, organizing, and all around busyness, I wanted to send a little note to friends and fam informing them of our new address and inviting them to come by. It's a little too late to order stationery online, but I remembered I picked up about a dozen of these LA postcards from fellow vendor friends Fluent Flyers this summer. They say Los Angeles on the front with a great illustration of a city scape and beach view, and are so right for our move.

Each postcard says "Kindly note", "Please note", or "We're Moving", our new address, and a little personalized note to each of our loved ones.

 

I am excited to get these in the mail and have people over, but this weekend we will be doing the majority of the packing. How we accumulated a multitude of things we didn't know we had is beyond me. Wish us luck!!

Postcrossing

A few months ago I joined the site Postcrossing. With the tag line "send a postcard, receive a postcard" Postcrossing allows users to register themselves on the site, send postcard to randomly assigned users around the world, and receive postcards from around the world. The thought of a little card traveling thousands of miles to send happy greetings got me interested, and I'm definitely glad that I joined the site. In the last 2 months I have received postcards from Taiwan, Germany, Russia, Poland, France, China, Hong Kong, Alaska, Wisconsin, Tennessee.

Some of the stamps I have come across. It's really interesting to see what other countries use as images on their stamps. Ones with flowers and animals are my favorite.

It's so cool that UCSB has one, too!

I'm enjoying tracking my postcards as they travel around the world, and it's great to have a little surprise in the mailbox.
