Cos every girl crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man: Groomsmen Suit and Ties

Once we decided on the fiance's suit, we could now decide on what the groomsmen would wear. We would love for them to wear matching gray suits and began to like the idea of their suit color being either darker or lighter than the fiance's.

After seeing a few weddings that opted for different color suits between groom and groomsmen, we were convinced we had to have it. The look is a lot of fun and gives both the groom and groomsmen a chance to stand out on the wedding day :)

At first we were apprehensive of asking the guys to purchase their suits. The expense is substantial, but necessary since suits can not be rented, and what if they aren't in the market for a suit? So the fiance searched for deals at the local department stores and the web, and found something in a good price that we all like. Monetarily, it's pretty similar to what a tux rental costs and turns out the groomsmen wouldn't mind an extra suit in their closets.

Here are a few photos of the suit from the JC Penney website. Each guy purchased them online (yay free shipping) and we're currently waiting for photos of them trying it on.

Love that they accessorized the gray suit with purple :)

The groomsmen's outfit would be completed with a white shirt and purple tie. I just love the look of a gray suit and purple tie.

Chuck Bass wears the colors well :)

To break the uniformity of the suits, we purchased ties in similar color but different patterns.

It's another fun look that I hope they enjoy.

Their ties are all varying shades of lavender with fun check patterns. I think the ties have a similar look and feel to the fiance's tie.

Close up to show detail.

We are excited to see the groomsmen in their suits and ties :)

How involved was your process in dressing your groomsmen? Will your groomsmen be in similar out fits or varying outfits?

Great compilation of inspiration pictures! I love the outfit you chose for them, and every guy could use a grey suit in his wardrobe.

I'm not sure how involved I'll be--we only have one groomsman! We'll probably pick out a tie for him, get him a bout of some sort, and the rest we'll figure out somehow. I'm not even sure if he'll wear a suit jacket, maybe a vest?

Love the look of the different ties. I plan on doing something similar for my groomsmen.

Wow that will look excellent! I love the idea of the groom standing out and I love love love the shades of lavender ties!

Our groomsman were not involved in their attire choices but my groom was...him and I spent about an hour at the tux shop when we picked them all out (And then I brought my MOH back for her seal of approval haha) Ours will all be in tuxes but groom will be in a ivory tie and pocket square as opposed to the pink that the men will be in!
