Pull gardenias from her hair: Hair Flowers

One of my favorite bridal fashion trends is the hair flower. Be it a headband or a clip, real or fake, there is just something so natural, chic, and beautiful about a flower one's hair. I have always planned on wearing a hair flower rather than a headband with a flower (my head is big and headbands give me headaches), so my decision became: natural flower vs hand-made, fabric flower.

A real flower would bring the natural look. Gardenias are my favorite flower and the look is just so classic and sweet. The fragrance would carry throughout the ceremony, and I ordered one from our florist to match my bouquet and my groom's boutonniere.

The gardenia also a Billie Holiday signature :)

The only draw back is how long the gardenia would last before it fades or wilts. Being outdoors mostly and in the summer heat might not bode well for the pretty flower.

So how do I get the same effect to last the night?

A fabric flower became my great alternative because it will last beautifully for the entire day, and it can be worn over and over again. Fabric flowers can also be customized through the colors, small adornments (pearls, crystals, feathers), and similar fabrics as your dress.

Oh my deer flowers are chic.

Beautiful Jennifer Behr creations are so luxurious.

Twigs & Honey hair flowers are so delicately pretty :)

For my fabric flower, I purchased this beautiful yellow lace flower anywhere clip by Tarina Tarantino.

The delicate flower is adorned with Swarovski crystals, measuring about 4 inches.

The clasp is quite strong. I sometimes have trouble with hair accessories since they tend to slide off my hair, but this securely fastens without any problems.

I love that it's so bright and cheery.

I guess this makes me a two hair flower bride, wearing the gardenia for the ceremony and formal photos, and the fabric flower for the reception and fun times after :)

Will you be wearing a hair flower? Did you choose natural or fabric?
