The trail took about an hour and a half. After discussions about styles, accessories, and wedding ambiance, we were ready. She started with hair: teasing the top for body, using one of the best curling irons I've had in my hair, adding just enough hairspray, and bobby pins to hold the half up/half down look. Makeup was natural and classic. Airbrushed foundation, wing tip eyeliner, fake lashes, and some shimmers made up the face. Both hair and makeup was guaranteed to last 12 hours with reminders to moisturize lips and blot sweat throughout the day. We were finished at 9:00 am.
I took some after photos in the car.
And really liked the eyes.
If only these were my natural lashes.I proceeded to take photos on my phone as we went on with our day, and labeled them with the times below.
9:00am - Just finished and definitely dolled up. I was so impressed with the hair (body and curl). The makeup was great, but it took a while to get use to seeing myself like that since I rarely wear that much on my face. I did love the weightless feel of the makeup.12:30pm - Taken after an hour and a half car ride, first set of engagement photos, and change of clothes. I also took my bobby pins out before heading to the beach so my hair could flow freely.
3:30pm - Hair has a lot less body, partly because I took my bobby pins out and partly because of how breezy the wind was. It was still curly though. And I do like the more sun-kissed look post beach outing :)
9:00pm - Twelve hours later and the makeup was still great, faded a bit but I liked how it looked more natural. The hair lost a lot of body and curl, but still carried a very natural wave to it, so I liked it.
Overall I am very happy with the trial and how everything turned out. I probably won't take out the bobby pins to early, ask a bridesmaid to help me with touch ups, and will try to keep my lips moisturized all day. Also, I've realized that while it may have seemed like a lot right after the trial, the hair and makeup did photograph well and proved longevity. Can't wait to see how our engagement photos turn out.
There truly is magic in the makeup.
How did you hair and makeup trial go? Would you change anything?
