The annual I Madonnari Festival graced the lot in front of the SB Mission with more talented chalk art this year. We headed there a few days after the pieces were finished, lucky enough to make it before this rainy SB weekend. I love seeing the chalk art each year. Professionals, art enthusiasts, and kids get a chance to showcase their chalk skills for colorful variety of pieces.
Below are a few that caught my eye.
Classic Santa Barbara.
The classic Andy Warhol painting of Liz Taylor. RIP.
The age of industry.
Loved the detail of this black, white, gray portrait. The detail in that you can see the reflection in the glasses is so awesome.
Chalk art of people creating chalk art. This was fun to see in real life.
Cute mere cats.
And colorful birds!
I love seeing the chalk pieces every year. It sort of marks the beginning of summer festival season here in SB.
Do you have a festival or event marking the start of summer? Have you been to any chalk art fairs?
