Art In The Streets
MOCA's Art in the Streets exhibit is one I've long awaited. I am a fan of street art, graffiti, murals, and any form that gets you thinking. This exhibit brings together the best street artists and presents the history in a way that justifies the genre. It was great seeing the different styles, influences, and backgrounds of the artists.Beware, this is a photo heavy post ;)
Invader outside of MOCA. This was one of eleven we counted in and around the space. It was so fun finding various invaders in the rafters, walls, and hidden corners.
Wall of spray cans from past to present.
Markers through the years.

Room full of tag papers.
There was a section of signs with sayings on them. Walking through and reading them was one of my favorites things to do and this was my favorite sign.
Banksy is always a big draw. His section had the most people gazing at each piece. This was my favorite.
Darfur stencil.
Large stained glass.
We entered a room/tent with this paper sculpture in the middle. Lit from the inside, the various cut outs brought a calming ambiance and awesome shadows to the space.
Another invader!
Wall of doors.
Wall of speakers with faces on them.
RISK's alphabet. I think I love this style of graffiti the most. It's colorful, pop-ish, easy to read.
Photos of various mural walls throughout LA.
Mr. Cartoon. I knew he was a tattoo artist, but recently learned he draws, creates graffiti, and paints on cars.
Part of Mr. Cartoon's mural wall.
The OBEY room was another big draw.
My favorite OBEY piece.
Inside the Cosmic Fun room.
Wall of photos of NYC subway cars.
Andre.
Invader again :)I'm now inspired to drive around LA and find art actually in the streets.
