I recently saw the cake above featured in Details Details blog. The Los Angeles Lakers are our favorite team and a basketball/Lakers inspired groom's cake would be perfect.
The fiance is a huge sports fan and enjoys anything sports related.
His favorite baseball team is the SF Giants.
I love how creative and fun groom's cakes can be :)
Since we are having cupcakes in lieu of a traditional wedding cake, we can carry our Lakers theme through with team logo and colors decorating the cupcakes.
I am so happy the Lakers are just moments away from winning the 2009 NBA Championship.

Wow those are some great cakes! I was going to do a NY Yankees cake for FI at the rehearsal but we really won't have enough people there to warrant the size of the cake or the price tag for that matter! So instead we're ordering cookies from holly’s cookies where half of them will be "girly" (probably pink and white dresses) and the other half will be baseball (balls, jerseys or mitts).
