In a pink dress

The wedding dress search has officially begun. For months now I have been browsing sites with the most lovely dresses, but haven't seriously looked. Now, just over 8 months to go, I realized that I must begin narrowing down which styles fit, the stores I would like to visit, and appointments have to be made. Oh the procrastinator in me.

One idea I really like is having color incorporated in the dress. It would add such a pop to tradition and would be well remembered.

A dress definitely remembered is Gwen Stefani's wedding dress. The mostly white dress that transitions from a lighter to a richer pink on the bottom is such a beauty. Gwen Stefani rocks. Her style is so genuine, classic, edgy, and feminine. I love how she translated her personal style so effortlessly into her wedding dress.

Her dress inspired this post of wedding dress alternatives. Below are beautiful pink dresses by one of my favorite designers, Pamella Roland.

The look of this dress is quite reminiscent of Gwen's dress. White turning into pink. The over the shoulder look gives it a grecian vibe. The dress looks very flowy, I love the movement in the photo.

This is my favorite dress from the Spring 09 collection. I love this combination of top and skirt so much. The textured, detailed top and simpler bottom is a great mix of flare and tradition. The beading accentuates the halter neckline. And I just love the gingham print skirt.

The neckline on this dress, the way it moves, and the sweet pink color. The belt is a cute accent. Sooooooo pretty!

While are great inspirations and a nice starting point, I have to be realistic and consider the budget. So file this under fantasy. And I'll return to you with more wedding dress inspirations.

How did you decide on your wedding dress? Did you incorporate any accents, embellisments, or color?
