Passenger Side Window: Driving Through the Desert

Driving to and from Vegas meant a few hours looking out my passenger side window at the Mojave Desert. Luckily we traveled in the early morning and after the rain (yep, rained in Vegas for 2 days) so the heat was bearable. And the views were incredible.

There is something distinctively serene, yet wild about the desert. Something about the vastness that fosters exploration. I love the blues, tans, browns, and greens.

And the open road.

And the wonderful sky.

Have you driven through the desert recently? I hope to do more of this, maybe on the way to Palm Springs!

I love desert landscapes, especially when we visited and drove through New Mexico a couple years ago. Have a lovely weekend!

Lovely pics! I love going on road trips when I'm not doing the driving...so much nicer to appreciate the scenery from the passenger's window!

Every time we go through the desert I make sure our car is in tip top working order--one of my greatest fears is getting stuck out there with no phone or auto club membership. You're right--the vastness of the desert is intriguing even hauntingly beautiful . . .

I drove through the desert from LV to CA once with my family when I was a kid. Our AC had broken and it was August so we went early in the morning and I don't really remember much. It is beautiful though, both the colors and the feeling that there might be nothing for miles.

I hope i can do the drive again some time soon (it's so hard to take road trips on our short trips home!)
