Unique LA Holiday Show Recap
We finished our 2011 show season at the Unique LA Holiday show and I would not have wanted it any other way. This year has been full of growth, change, and fun for honey my heart. We've tried every kind of show (fashion oriented, outdoor music, food truck related, arts and craftsy) and I have to say that Unique LA is always the best, most styled, highly curated, and amazing show. It is always an honor to be a part of it. Especially this one. There was something special about this show.
Each and every Unique participant created Made in America goods. Visiting each booth or table was like visiting a different boutique. The goods were such great quality that you could tell their hearts were into producing each piece. And the participants were all so kind! I loved getting to know new ones, catching up with our friends, and buying from some of our favorites ;) I also loved the energy! With music pumping and shoppers shopping, the energy was so high and positive. It was great to see shoppers that we recognized from shows past and meet new ones interested in my jewelry. I'm always so humbled by their interest and happy to see their love of handmade goods. It's really the shoppers who are our greatest supporters.
I am so happy with positivity and camaraderie felt from shoppers, friends, fellow participants, and everyone this weekend. We are all in this together.
Thank you to Sonja, Aisha, and team Unique for everything ♥
Here are a few (a lot of) photos from the whirlwind of a show.
View of Downtown LA from behind our table. It was a beautiful weekend.
Toe Jamm Shoes!
Body butters and gift packs from hello mellow. I stood here and smelled the sweet scents for a while.
Crews from NBC LA and World News were at the show filming the buy local, made in America awesomeness of Unique. I captured one of them getting vid of Further.
Organic printed tea towels by Miss Fruitfly.
Discovered The Bocket Store. Sarah Bocket takes reclaimed wood objects, hand paints every single dot on each item, and gives it a new life. It's such amazing work.
I need one of these pieces.
Sweet ceramics by Unurth.
We Love Citrus was a treasure trove of packaging goodness! Spools of metallic thread and twine, mason jars, stickers, straws, bags... It was a one stop shop for your gift decorating needs.
Cheeky cards by Sweet Perversion. My favorites were, "Save the Drama for your Mama" and "For Like Evah".
Paper & Type! Victoria was such a sweet table neighbor. There was so much stationery sweetness in one place. The cards, calendars, illustrations, and custom work had my paper loving heart beating! I purchased a perpetual planner for next year, and can't wait to purchase more.
For the reader, book cuffs by Magic Indsutrie.
Unicorn tree topper by Unicorn Crafts. You must check out all of her cutesy jewelry.
A favorite find was jewelry by Kyyote. It's a mix of bright colors, tiny beads, and reclaimed sterling silver. It's striking.
Each earring is on my wish list!
Another fave was We Are All Smith. The menswear and bags had me ready to buy for the men in my life. So clean, so casual.
We spent a lot of time at this booth. MNKR is my favorite tee company.I was suppose to buy presents there, but ended up buying more for me ;)
Another favorite tee company is Love Nail Tree. I need their "Home is whenever I'm with you" top. As well as this one:
Because haven't we all lived on ramen?
And a tee that sums up buying local by Continuous.
Here is the honey my heart table spot. We were lucky enough to have a window at our backs, giving the ribbon wall we created varying light as the day turned to night. My colors were blue and gold/beige heavy, with some purple highlights here and there.
Parents posing with the holiday cards :)
And a few favorite rings!
There were celebrities among the crowd. My brother spotted Steve Yuen from The Walking Dead and snagged a photo. We also spotted Hannah Simone from The New Girl, and met Jennifer Hall who plays Missy on Up All Night.
Finally, a bit of the loot we gathered from the show. Some of it is for me, most of it is for family and friends. Thanks to Unique LA all of the Christmas gifts I will be giving are made in America :)
